New Star Trek High-Quality Trailer
One of the added bonuses to seeing Watchmen this past weekend, on our neighborhood cinema’s giant UltraScreen, was getting our first look at the new Star Trek trailer. I completely got chills from watching it. It looks fantastic–the visual effects are jaw-dropping–both beautiful and terrifying. I’d admired the casting decisions from the beginning, but seeing them all on screen now just makes it even better.
Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, and John Cho are all great choices–quite franky, there doesn’t seem like there could have been any other Spock than Quinto. Eric Bana is always a treat to watch and looks marvelously and powerfully evil here.
Most exciting of all, though, is how incredible Chris Pine appears in the trailer. I hadn’t been quite sure about his being the right Kirk, but now seeing him in action? It’s in the eyes, the real resemblance, and that’s the most important aspect. And it looks like we’re going to get the brashness, and the appeal to the ladies (blue and otherwise…)
I love it when I get goosebumps from a trailer. It doesn’t happen all that often, anymore, so I’m looking forward to Star Trek with even more anticipation than before. Here’s hoping the movie lives up to the astounding trailer.

Hee…*boinging next to you* I am soooo going to be there opening weekend.
I came to fandom so late, with LOTR. I had no idea there was this whole world of fannish glee out there.
I used to watch Star Trek with my dad. I think I was most “fascinated” by Spock…hee…I thought he was cute, even with the strange bowl haircut. *G* And of course I loved Uhura–a woman astronaut facing aliens and danger–all while looking stunning in a minidress. That’s my kinda heroine…hee.
I put some screencaps up of the trailer now, as well. I can’t stop watching the thing!
Lucky! We didn’t get this trailer when we saw ‘Watchmen’.
Thank you though! That was fantastic! I didn’t know one was out yet. Now I have to go force my husband to watch the trailer.
kidagara, it was sooo incredible seeing it on that HUGE screen…I was just blown away. I’d seen one other trailer for Star Trek before that intrigued me, but this one really sold it. I’m hoping the film is as solid as the trailer.
Hope your hubby enjoyes it, too!
