Shirtless David Boreanaz, Bones
Believe it or not, I never watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Therefore, I never watched Angel, either. They’re cult favorites, and land in the genres I like, but I missed the beginning of the Buffy craze and just never got caught up. So I never got caught up in the David Boreanaz craze, either. And therefore, I never bothered to check out his next series, Bones.
This got remedied when I tuned in the first night for TNTs rerunning of the entire Bones series. I wasn’t so sure about the first episode, but after the second I could feel myself getting hooked. Ensemble casts of quirky characters are always fun when they work well, and Bones has a great cast. Emily Deschanel especially hits all the right notes as the super analytical forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan (or “Bones” as Boreanaz’s character, Special Agent Seeley Booth, calls her). Dr. Brennan is a wonderfully unique female character on TV — she’s extremely intelligent, thinks psychology is for suckers, and is totally and often uncomfortably blunt when it comes to telling it like it is.
Deschanel and Boreanaz have great chemistry onscreen, as their characters form a dedicated work partnership, ever-growing friendship, and some delicious sexual tension that, like the lovely old school Avengers series, isn’t overdone. I started to see what the David Boreanaz craze was all about. He has definite charm, cloaking his character Booth with typical masculine qualities of strength, self-assurance, and a sexy swagger. There’s also the intensely biting sarcasm, continual huffing exasperation over Brennan’s foot-in-mouth disease, and a big smooshy sap lurking under the sometimes oafish exterior. He combines it all well and creates an entertaining and exciting character.
Aside from that, he’s also incredibly buff. I was trying to decide what to do a post on this evening when I got to Episode 5 of Season 2 of Bones. Booth has an unexpected fling with his ex Rebecca (Jessica Capshaw), and we get to see shirtless David Boreanaz–as well as some glipses of the rest of him. The man is made of muscle, and it’s a very nice view indeed.
We begin with post-coital bliss…

And then the back muscles, and the not-so-tighty-whities…and the massively strong, incredible thighs…
And then a sweet smile…
More examples of the rippling muscles…
His back is incredible. Down to dimples and all…
Just as sexy with the pants on…
Almost kissing…
…but not quite. I love the intense look.
Hope you enjoyed the shirtless, near-naked David Boreanaz. I’m sure there’ll be more of this lovely man in the Shrine in the future.
