The Orlando Bloom fandom exploded with excitement today as new pictures of Orlando Bloom in full cop regalia surfaced on the Net. Check out photos of Orlando Bloom in police uniform over at Gossip Girls, Just Jared, and LJs All the Best of Orlando Bloom. You’ll get to see him strutting sexily on set, having a leisurely cup of coffee, and sharing a giggle with esteemed actress Ellen Burstyn.
After a string of blockbusters and some smaller independent films, Orlando Bloom took a break from the limelight and started appearing in the news more for gossip about his dating life rather than anything about his acting career. Apparently he was smoothly calculating his comeback, arranging to knock his impatiently waiting fangirls dead with roles as a delectable shirtless rock star and now as a deliciously sexy man in uniform. If we get the martial arts film The Red Circle and the atmospheric sci-fi film The Cross, the fannish excitement will swell to unheard of levels.
Don’t even think about Orlando Bloom reprising Legolas in The Hobbit. The world isn’t ready…

Still no more word on the film The Red Circle or Orlando Bloom’s involvement. Not sure why this film seems to be such a mystery, but I’ll keep my eye out
for more info. The good news is that Sympathy for Delicious is in post-production, so hopefully it won’t be too long before we can see rock star Orlando on the big screen.
In other news, Orlando has reportedly joined the cast of Main Street, written by late playwright Horton Foote (The Trip to Bountiful, Lily Dale). The Reuters blurb tells us that Main Street involves a small town in North Carolina that gets shaken up by a stranger’s visit. Orlando Bloom is set to play a policeman, and the film’s cast also includes Andrew McCarthy, Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson and Colin Firth. The gorgeous Mr. Darcy and the pretty Elf Legolas in one film–that may just be too much loveliness to handle.
Word buzzing on the Net is that Orlando Bloom starts filming Main Street in Durham this Monday, so the fangirl swarm should start descending this weekend. Just ask the folks in Elizabethtown…
