Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, The Fountain
In honor of Hugh’s lovely performance at the Oscars, I thought I’d do some screencaps of his movie The Fountain, a lush and gorgeous–if sometime incomprehensible–film. The Fountain is quite complex, weaving reality with imagination, mystery, dreams and hopes, and the ultimate question of how long love truly lasts. If nothing else, see The Fountain for its incredible visuals, and the heartfelt and brave acting of both Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman. They are both exquisitely beautiful in this film, in many ways.
The film is very surreal, and I warn you that in the beginning, you’ll have no idea what is going on. Don’t try to understand it. Just experience it, and when the narrative hits the present day, you’ll start to understand more of what you’ve just seen. It’s a tough film, and perhaps too artsy for its own good, but no one can take away its originality or the questions of life and love and eternity that it provokes.
In the present day, there is both love and heartache…
There is such beautiful use of light and shadow in The Fountain.
In another Age…
Once again, the stunning lighting brings out Rachel Weisz’s beauty so exquisitely…
The giving of the ring…
Back in present day…
…meeting at an important museum exhibit.
The looks of love…
Hope you enjoyed the view of The Fountain. I may try capturing Wolverine next…
